I love vampire romances! This is my first book by this author, and I liked parts of it and didn't care for other parts. It had an intriguing premise - young human woman has the kiss of her life from a vampire on New Years Eve, and then sets out to find him on a vampire online dating site. The heroine, Silver Harris, was mildly compelling - pretty and smart, but aimless and immaturely snarky. The hero, Logan Byrne, was also mildly compelling - handsome and powerful, but occasionally lame. They had good chemistry, but it was sometimes a bit forced. The storyline was entertaining and unpredictable, particularly the ending. I liked the author's writing style well enough. Overall, ok for a start to the series.

Very tame story with some mystery, drama, suspense and steam. Nothing over the top. Logan Byrne is a 200 y/o sweet, gentlemanly vampire. He's certainly not the typical Vamps you read about. No, he's a "do-gooder" (almost too sweet). I liked the world Ms. Lyons took me to. Where humans accept and coexist with vampires. There are clubs of depravity where humans offer their body's for Vamps to feed from, in return for the sexual thrill they receive. Ms. Lyons creates a world where vampires do not need blood to survive, but rather drinking human blood too often can create an addiction much like an alcoholic to alcohol. It was an interesting concept and she penned it very well.

Silver Harris is the female protagonist. She's snarky almost to the point of being immature, so it was hard to gravitate to her. On the other hand, I loved her tough exterior and her independence. Once I understood the bitterness she carries from the mysterious loss of her mother, I became less judgmental of her sarcasm. Silver has trust issues...she doesn't want a relationship. She won't allow holding hands, pet names or any date to get to know her well enough to become clingy. Rarely does she go on a second date with the same man. There's no point.

This story wasn't predictable. A few times I thought I knew which direction the author was going to take me, only for the plot line to take a turn in a different direction. I enjoyed the plot even though the execution of getting it told was drawn out. I appreciated the reiterating of character physical details keeping Logan and Silver fresh in my minds eye. The cover picture throws me off...never was Logan in a suit or tuxedo but rather he's always in a worn denim jacket and t-shirt with black jeans. Never does he bring Silver a red rose, so the cover picture is deceptive. This story is told in first person, dual POV...with a HEA. Except for the erotic, steamy scenes, I'd rate it PG-13.
They're an unlikely match.

When Logan is asked to put a glamour on the women using the site the two are thrown back together again.

There’s something quite fun about watching two people who claim not to want to be involved in a relationship fight the sizzling, undeniable attraction between them. Sparks fly, and the heat is turned up to boiling. But the story is so much more than just a romance. There are sinister forces here that want to keep the two apart.

This was a fun read. The banter had me laughing out loud. As much as Silver tried to push Logan’s buttons, he always remained calm and unruffled. Because I liked the book so much, I also purchased the CD. Listening to the Silver’s English accent and Logan’s Irish accent added another level to the story. And how fun is it to go on the VDateService.com to find a vampire match?
3 & 1/2 stars. This was sort of a light erotic read, nothing overly dramatic, nothing really putting you on the edge of your seat- type of reading. It did hold my interest enough to stay up too late to finish the book, just because I knew I was so close to the ending. The humor was mostly a snarky kind of humor- for the most part, which is not great to me, maybe that's a generational thing. The flow was a bit choppy, some places dragged so slow, & others zipped right a long smoothly. I felt there were a few places that were rushed. Those rushed places could also have used a bit more detail to fill in what was what. It did have an HEA, & felt like it could be setting up some of the secondary characters for their own stories, which might be interesting with a certain few of those characters.

Silver is very spunky & snarky. I really wasn't keen on her, she was almost a bit too over the top. I was surprised the vamp dates she went on didn't all try to kill her. I wanted them too in a few places. I also felt she too easily brushed things off, like when she found out how her mother died. Now Logan, he's fantastic, the kind of paranormal book boyfriend most ladies would love. I would have loved to listen to him all day on audio for his accent alone! Those lyrical Irish & Scottish accents do me in every time! The relationship between them just didn't seem like anything more than lust or sex. I didn't see the development between them. There was loads of sex, almost too much for me, since I didn't see a relationship developing in between the sex, it's almost a balancing act for the ratio of sex to relationship development to make it work for me.
