For the love of baseball! This a great read! The cover made me buy the book. Amalie and Jarrod’s sweet hot romance keep me up past bedtime to finish it.
Amalie is a 6th feet tall ultrasound technician living with her best friend and roommate Jo. One night, she meets a tall, sexy guy in the VIP room at a local club. Then she leaves the club before she learns anything about him. But she doesn’t forget the “mystery” guy who made her feel feminine and vulnerable, especially while being sensitive about her height and curves. So, to capitalize on that hot duo, she indulges in a “hobby” as a pinup model.
A few days later, he calls her out of the blue and takes her out on a date. The next thing you know she is dating “mystery” man with the red Ferrari and NYC penthouse apartments. He introduces her to his “colleagues” and takes her to work with him. Who takes the girl you dating to work with you? She wonders. Turns out Mr. Mystery Man, Jarrod, is a professional baseball player. Amalie does not follow sports and has no idea what a big deal Jarrod is in the sports world.
The story is very romantic; the sex is very HOT! Everything Jarrod throws, in and out of the bedroom, has a lot of heat behind it. He is a guy who wants to introduce her to his friends and family. He is the perfect guy to protect and love her. The romance is very beautiful with elements of suspense. I hope to see more Boys of Summer romances from this new author.

Pitching for Amalie Men of Baseball Book 1 edition by Hayley Faiman Sarah Hansen Okay Creations Jovana Shirley Unforeseen Editing Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I absolutely loved this book! I was drawn in from the first page and was never bored. Amalie and Jarrod are an awesome couple. Amalie's past is realistic and her struggles after her past experience with a man were easy too feel. I enjoyed the way Jarrod and Amalie met and how he immediately was protective of her. Amalie remained her own woman throughout the book. She models and Jarrod isn't necessarily a huge fan, but he supports her and she does it because it makes her happy. Unlike a lot of romance books, Amalie and Jarrod have separate lives that come together. They support one another and do not make the other chose between their dreams and each other. Their love story spoke to me. It was believable and strong. I love that Amalie isn't a size zero, and that Jarrod loves her just the way she is.
I enjoyed this story and I would have given it five stars but I'm a huge baseball fan myself and there were so many errors as far as the baseball aspect went, it kept me from totally enjoying it. The biggest mistake was when he went to play away and it said he was going to be gone for a couple of months. Road trips last usually no more than ten games, so they're never away from home for more than two weeks. Also, since he was a Yankee, playing at home in game seven of the World Series, he wouldn't have come to bat. Pitchers don't bat at home in the American League. And even if it was an away game, playing in a National League park where the pitchers do bat, there's not one single team that would let the pitcher bat in a tie game, eighth inning, bases loaded. That's what pinch hitters are for. The unbelievability of it really took me out of the story. There were many other baseball related mistakes. I would just suggest researching a subject before writing about it.
I liked this book, especially Amalie, the female protagonist of this book. She was smart and confident in herself and her decisions in her life despite experiencing a heinous moment in her young life. It was made worse when she received blame and no support from her immediate family and best friend. The contrast in Amalie's family to Jarrod's, the male protagonist and romantic interest, were astonishing. I admired the strong characters of both of our protagonists which led to an intense chemistry and attraction between the two. Their physical relationship was inevitable from the instant lust when they first met, but both of them waited several weeks after getting to know one another before they decided to take it to the next level. It was great to read about an adult relationship where they communicated freely with one another. They always attacked their hardships together, which was refreshing. I did find Amalie's lack of baseball knowledge odd since she lived in one of the biggest baseball cities, Boston, for 7 years, but this is minor. There were a lot of racy intimate encounters that could of set fire to your e-reader. At times, it was overwhelming and I did get tired of Jarrod asking who Amalie belonged to, but overall I did like the story and recommend this book wholeheartedly.
Amalie is an ultrasound tech that moved from FL to MA seven years ago when she started college. She fled an abusive relationship with her ex-boyfriend Eric, whom is the best friend of her brother.

Jarrod is a dirty-talking baseball player who pursues Amalie after meeting her at a club one night. They soon strike up a hot and heavy relationship and when her ex comes back into the picture, he’s the alpha to the rescue.

As mentioned before, there is a lot of dirty talk and sex, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but it was a bit gratuitous and the dirty talk bordered on cheesy.
But the biggest issue I had with this book was Amalie. I couldn’t stand her. She was constantly belittling herself. She would repeatedly tell herself she was fat, called herself a “plus-sized” model like it was a bad thing, telling herself she was stupid…if the character doesn’t like herself, how on earth is the reader supposed to? It was insulting, period.

This is my first read by this author and I’m not sure if I’d pick up another, if I’m honest. This book was largely forgettable. I’m a huge fan of sports romances and I appreciated that the characters were in their mid to late 20s, but this just didn’t work for me.
